It’s so dry out there, let’s talk about watering!
First 2 Weeks: Water plants daily. Water enough to lightly soak the root ball.
Second 2 Weeks: Water plant material every other day. Water enough to lightly soak the root ball.
After 4 Weeks: Tip: Plants need water to soak the root ball 1-2 times per week. If rainfall (mother nature) provides sufficient water, you can forgo watering that cycle. Remember, light rainfall may not be enough water to penetrate the mulch/soil to lightly soak the root ball. It’s important to monitor new plants during the first year. Plants will need supplemental watering during hot and dry conditions.
“We have a house with a front yard and back yard. We need the lawn mowed and also have weeds in the back growing through the brick cracks that need to be removed, as well as a patch of grass that is dead and needs to be replanted.” – Lorton, VA 22079
“I am moving into this house in mid August. I would like an estimate for lawn and plant maintenance for the front and back yard. I will be hiring a service as soon as I move into the property.” – Alexandria, VA 22306
“The B. Rushing team has transformed our yard and garden! Last summer we hired B. Rushing after we had a large tree removed from our front yard. I was so sad at the time to see our tree go, but they sodded most of the front yard and made other helpful landscape suggestions and changes. We signed up with Rushing’s monthly maintenance program and my yard has never looked so good! They listen and quickly take care of any issues which arise. They are extremely pleasant, knowledgeable, and reliable. Thank you B. Rushing! I am so glad you are taking care of our landscaping needs!”
– Arlington, VA
Summertime is here! The kids are out of school, the pools are open, and the familiar tune of the ice cream truck makes its way through our neighborhoods. However, summer also brings us higher temperatures and longer days, which does not bode well for your lawn and garden. The extreme heat can dry out your grass and plants, leaving your yard looking more like the Sahara Desert than the Gardens of Versailles. Summer lawn care is important, especially as the weather gets more humid and hot in Virginia. Why not leave the summer lawn care or your home in Mount Vernon or your area to the professionals?
B. Rushing’s Professional Lawn Care Program has everything you need to provide you with a lush, green lawn all-year long. Our team will stop by on the same day each week, on a schedule that works for you. We have the knowledge and the tools that will keep your lawn looking fresh and healthy. Are pesky weeds growing faster and taller than ever, towering over your flowers? We also have a Plant Care Program, where we maintain your garden by removing weeds, fertilizing, and trimming and pruning your plants.
